Anathem Review

Anathem Anathem by Neal Stephenson

My review

rating: 4 of 5 stars Finished it over the weekend. Sadly, it was not as much fun to read as Snow Crash and the Baroque Cycle, but still chock full of great moments. It made me think a bit harder than other Stephenson novels, especially with the invented language. There's quite a bit of philosophy and math involved, but explained through socratic dialogue that makes it comprehensible. I plan to re-read this in a month or so while the terms are still fresh in my brain. Half the work was learning a new language over the first several hundred pages and internalizing it, so on the re-read, I shouldn't have that burden and can just enjoy it. View all my reviews.
